Meet Our Staff

Owner/Administrator
Susan has been in the field of education for 21 years, and the child care field for 13. She has a Master's Degree in Religious Education, a certificate in Early Childhood Education, and her registry credentials in Early Childhood Administration and Leadership. Susan's passion is advocacy for this field that she loves. She wants to help provide quality, affordable education and care to all area families, and living wages for Early Childhood teachers. Susan is also an Ongoing Support Consultant for Waupaca County Child Care Centers. She is a level 16 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry.

Director
Emily has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for seven years and has her Associate Degree from Fox Valley Technical College. Emily is dedicated to helping My First Adventure be a positive and welcoming place for kiddos and their families. Her experience makes her a great director as she is a respected mentor to the staff, and she is loved by all the kiddos. Emily is a level 12 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry.

Assistant Director/ Float Teacher
Athena has 15 years of experience in childcare and most recently working at Head start! She loves teaching the older kids! She loves seeing the look on their faces when they figure out something they have been trying to figure out for a long time! Athena has a bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Northern Michigan University. She is currently a level 15 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry

Zoo Teacher
Sabrina has previously taken Early childhood classes at Fox Valley Technical College. She also has Three Children of her own. Sabrina loves working with the the younger kiddos and her favorite part is when they catch on to what is being taught! You will find her smiling face in The Zoo!

Assistant Teacher
Kaitlyn is one of the newer faces to our team and the field. She is currently working with our younger kiddos. Kaitlyn has chosen this field because she hopes to make this world a brighter place, by working with our kiddos. She is currently working on her book work to become a lead teacher.

Floating Teacher
Anna has 7 years of experience in the Early Childhood field. She is gentle, nurturing and understands the ever changing world of the little ones. Her easy manner and calm approach makes her an amazing teacher. Anna has taken courses at NWTC specific to Infant and Toddler Care and is a level 9 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry.

Assistant Teacher
Christina is new to the field of Early Childhood Education. That however, does not stop her from being willing to learn and support all of the children in her care. She works primarily with the younger kiddos, but may be seen with the older ones as well. She has completed her Teacher Courses.

Float Teacher
Kristin is coming back into the field of Early Childhood Education. She is working with us part time around her kids crazy schedules, because their family is super into sports and everything outdoors. She will be floating around the younger end of our center. She has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and will be a level 12 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry.

Outer Space Teacher
Lydia has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Preschool Credential. She comes to us with several years of experience working with all ages. Her fun and easy going personality makes her a great fit for our two year old room.

Floating Teacher
Sarah has over 7 years of experience working in daycare. She also has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education! Her experience and her education make her a great fit for working with all ages. She currently is a level 12 one the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry!

Construction Site Teacher
Laurie has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2001, but has been dedicated to education in general her whole life. We are excited to have all of her experience take over and lead our oldest learners. She is currently working on her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also a level 14 on the Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry.

Floating Teacher
Grace has 5 years of experience from both volunteer work and from starting her degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves to play with the children and greets them every morning with a smile on her face! She is currently working on her degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point!

Assistant Teacher
Sam comes to us with previous experience working in the kitchen preparing meals for the elderly. She is also a mom of two. This makes her a very good asset as she can work in more than one place. You will see her smiling face in the classroom. She has completed her Assistant Teacher Courses.

Owner/Building and Grounds
Assistant Teacher
Roger is co-owner and Mr. Fix-it at My First Adventure. The kids love to see his truck pull up and they are always fascinated with whatever project he is working on. The kids call him, "Mr. Roger" and whenever something breaks or is damaged, they know who will fix it up. You can also find him in the classroom most afternoons playing like the big kid he is. Roger has taken Introduction to the Child Care Profession and The Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care.

Application
Do you love children? Are you a nurturing, patient team-player? Would you like to spend most of your day playing? If so, you may enjoy being a childcare teacher! Duties include meeting children's needs, building relationships with families and lots of play. We work four days a week, no evenings or weekends. Part time positions are also available.
